Update for December 18

18 December 2025

Crews and third-party contractors (ie. Telus) have been performing works related to irrigation, electrical conduits, streetlight bases, and retaining walls. During this work, there may be temporary delays accessing driveways.

Tranquille Road will remain an active construction zone until December 19, 2025. NOTE: third-party contractors may perform work over the winter months.

A LOOK AHEAD
  • By end-of-day on December 19, 2025, Tranquille Road will re-open to regular traffic movements until early 2026. NEW: effective December 19, the speed limit from Cambridge Crescent to Airport Road will become 50km/h.
  • As grading along the corridor has not yet been completed, several vertical sewer pipes remain exposed on private property and are vulnerable to damage from vehicle traffic, snow removal, and other activities. As such, the contractor will cordon off these pipes to protect them over the winter.
  • During the winter months, transit will continue to detour to Young Avenue and temporary stops will remain in their current locations.
  • Temporary pedestrian paths have been created on both the north and south sides of Tranquille Road to allow for pedestrian use. The contractor (PME) will be managing snow clearing in these areas. Please use at your own risk.
  • No further work will occur on private driveways in 2025. All driveways will remain as is until work recommences.
  • The truck route detour will remain on Ord Road over the winter break and throughout the entire project.
  • Crews will return in early 2026 to continue work on retaining walls, sidewalks, the multi-use pathway, streetlighting, and private driveways.
