FEATURED ENGAGEMENT OPPORTUNITIES

  • Community + Council Conversations: The first neighbourhood event will take place October 25, 2023, 6:00–8:30 pm, at the Barnhartvale Community Hall for residents of Juniper Ridge, Barnhartvale, Campbell Creek, Rose Hill, Valleyview, and Dallas.
  • Kamloops Municipal IDEA Conference: This first-of-its-kind conference will be an engaging space for attendees to share successes and struggles while developing best practices in our collective effort to build more inclusive, diverse, equitable, and accessible communities.

COMMUNITY COLLABORATION ACTIVITIES

• The Corporate Services Director joined the Thompson Rivers University Board of Directors.

• The Database and Security Manager co-presented on citizen engagement and Wi‑Fi during the Memorial Cup at the Municipal IT Conference in Kelowna on October 3, 2023.

• The Transportation Manager joined Council to host a media event marking the grand opening of the 6th Avenue Separated Bike Lane on October 6, 2023.

• The City hosted a virtual information session on October 12, 2023, for residents interested in applying for the Social and Community Development Grants.

• The first joint working group meeting for Build Kamloops will be held on October 18, 2023.

• The City-sponsored CleanBC Climate Leadership Symposium for public sector and local government staff advancing climate action initiatives takes place October 18–19, 2023, at Thompson Rivers University. On October 18, 2023, the City will host a social at the Kamloops Museum and Archives in conjunction with the symposium.

• The Chamber of Commerce and the City of Kamloops are hosting a three-part webinar series November 2–16 intended to help residents understand the procurement process.
