Project update for November 15

15 November 2023

The Pemberton water system upgrades are nearing completion for the season. These critical water infrastructure upgrades include construction of a new reservoir and a new booster station within Greenstone Park.

The new reservoir is nearly complete and is currently awaiting bacteriological and chlorination testing. Crews hope to have the new reservoir online prior to the end of 2023. Tie-ins from the existing two reservoirs will be carried out in early 2024.

Crews are completing the electrical and mechanical components within the new booster station. Commissioning of the booster station will be completed early 2024.

Crews will continue to work onsite until winter shutdown. Work will then resume in early 2024 and will include:

  • Commissioning of the new booster station and decommissioning of the existing booster station;
  • Tying in the existing reservoirs to the new facilities;
  • Park restoration, including:
    • completion of site regrading;
    • completion of new perimeter fence installation;
    • installation of new underground irrigation system;
    • installation of sod/seed.

The dog park designation will be maintained once the park has been reopened to the public.

A reminder to residents that Greenstone Park remains closed to the public until project completion in spring 2024. The site will remain fenced off as there are still concealed hazards onsite that will be present until completion of construction. We appreciate your patience and understanding.
