Update for March 25

25 March 2024

Acres Enterprises has started work on the new stormwater pond as part of phase two of the project. Crews have been stripping and clearing the area in preparation for excavation work.

Residents are advised that drilling and blasting of bedrock will be required in the area of the new pond. Pashco Blasting will be carrying out the work on behalf of the City and Acres Enterprises. Pashco Blasting is scheduled to mobilize to site the week of April 8. The length and hours of the blasting period are yet to be determined. On days that blasting is scheduled, an airhorn will be sounded in advance of each blast (more information will be forthcoming).

While vibration from the blasting is expected to be minimal, residents in the immediate area are encouraged to remove or secure valuables from shelves and walls.

Residents located within 100m of the blasting area will be contacted and a pre-blast survey of all structures will be conducted to document the condition of these structures prior to the start of the blasting. These residents will be contacted, and the pre-blast surveys will take place, starting the week of March 25.

Walking Trails

Residents are reminded that a number of the existing walking trails within the construction area remain inaccessible. Fencing and signage is in place. Residents are asked to respect the closures and choose alternate walking routes.
