This week, crews are setting remaining street light bases, conduits, and placing sub base on the roadway.

The week of November 20, crews will begin work on the the intersection at the east end of the Copperhead Drive extension where it meets the road to the new Pineview Elementary School. Crews will be stripping and removing materials in preparation for future excavation and installation of both deep (storm, sanitary, and watermain) and shallow (Hydro, Telus, Shaw) utilities, as well as roadworks, curbing, and paving, which will all take place next year.

Residents are advised that some of the existing walking trails within this construction area will be inaccessible. Fencing and signage will be in place. Residents are asked to respect the closures and choose alternate walking routes.

Crews will continue to work onsite as long as weather permits, with work resuming early in the new year. Work in 2024 will also include completion of the Copperhead Drive extension corridor (multi-use pathway, sidewalk, landscaping, and street lighting), construction of a stormwater pond, and construction of an emergency egress road connecting to Aberdeen Drive.

Please note that the School District has now commenced work on their property (site of the new Pineview Elementary School). With the increased traffic within the two job sites, on surrounding roads, and near walking trails, please be cautious when in the area and respect construction fencing and signage that is in place.
