A reminder to residents that Pashco Blasting will be mobilizing to site the week of April 8 in preparation for commencing drilling and blasting of bedrock in the area of the new stormwater pond.

While the schedule for drilling and blasting is anticipated to be over a 2 to 3 week period, the majority of the days will only involve drilling. Over the period, only 4 to 6 blasts are anticipated, each lasting only a few seconds.

On days that blasting is scheduled, the blast area will be cleared and guarded to ensure no one is in the vicinity of the blast. An airhorn will be sounded in advance of each blast.

While vibration from the blasting is expected to be minimal, residents in the immediate area are encouraged to remove or secure valuables from shelves and walls.

Pre-blast surveys are being conducted for residents located within 100m of the blasting area.
