STAGE One (west end of Riverside Park, plus Lansdowne Street from 1st Avenue to 2nd Avenue) - Completion targeted for June 28

Monday, June 17 and Tuesday, June 18:

  • The intersection of Victoria Street and 1st Avenue will be closed to all vehicle traffic. This temporary closure is necessary for the installation of a sanitary bypass through a manhole in the intersection. Pedestrian access will be maintained.

Tuesday, June 25 and Wednesday, June 26:

  • Paving of Lansdowne Street from 1st Avenue to 2nd Avenue, as well as Lorne Street from Uji Way to 1st Avenue, and the intersection of Victoria Street and 1st Avenue is scheduled to take place (weather permitting).

Friday, June 28:

  • Tentative Stage One completion date.
  • Lansdowne Street from 1st Avenue to 2nd Avenue to be re-opened to thru traffic the morning of June 28;
  • The detour on 2nd Avenue and on Seymour Street to be removed by end of day June 28.

STAGE Two (Lansdowne Street from 2nd Avenue to 4th Avenue) - Starts June 28 with completion late August

Friday, June 28, Stage Two will commence on Lansdowne Street from 2nd Avenue to 4th Avenue.

  • By end of day June 28, concrete barricades will be installed on Lansdowne Street between 2nd Avenue and 4th Avenue establishing the work zones and the traffic pattern through the Stage Two limits
  • During Stage Two, one lane of traffic will be maintained on Lansdowne Street through the construction zone. Heavy trucks (other than downtown deliveries) will still be required to detour via the highway. Pedestrian access will be maintained, but may be limited to one side of the street only.
  • All businesses located within the Stage Two limits will remain open and accessible. Customers accessing these businesses are asked to watch for and obey all traffic control devices and personnel. Access maps will be shared to help businesses and customers navigate the area. Additionally, project signage will be posted for motorists as they enter the downtown core for increased awareness.
  • No on-street parking will be permitted on Lansdowne Street between 2nd Avenue and 4th Avenue during Stage Two. On-street parking on Lansdowne Street between 4th Avenue and 5th Avenue will also not be permitted to accommodate two traffic lanes merging into one lane to enter the construction zone.

Tuesday, July 2:

  • Crews will be milling (lifting asphalt) in the work zone on Lansdowne Street between 2nd Avenue and 4th Avenue.

Tuesday, July 2 to approximately Tuesday, July 9:

  • Crews will be working on the sewer crossing at 2nd Avenue and Lansdowne Street
