Update for April 10

10 April 2026

Dirt is moving and big things are happening at the site of the Kamloops Centre for the Arts!

Preliminary works, like sanitary servicing and third party utility work, has already been occurring. Hall Excavating has now begun deep excavations, with shoring upcoming, followed by foundation installation by the end of the year.

We appreciate the patience and co-operation of local residents, businesses, commuters, and visitors alike as we navigate the impacts of this monumental project.

As a reminder, portions of the surrounding corridors around the KCA site will be used for staging and deliveries, resulting in select road, alley, sidewalk, and street parking closures and adjustments on an ongoing basis until project completion in 2029.

The integrated project delivery team, in coordination with the City's Transportation, are actively monitoring the site and will make accommodations and adjustments as needed to ensure the safety of all motorists, pedestrians, and crews onsite.

Did you know? Satellite work areas and offsite crew parking is being coordinated to reduce parking pressure in the area.

Did you know? Construction vehicles are required to limit idling in accordance with the City’s Good Neighbour Bylaw and to minimize long-term use of nearby on-street parking, which is in high demand for residents and local businesses.

Continue to keep an eye on the KCA project page for updates, milestones, FAQs, photos, and more!
