November 8, 2019: Kudos From Rocky Mountain Rangers for Pleasant St. Cemetery

8 November 2019

"By way of introduction, I'm currently the Commanding Officer of the Rocky Mountain Rangers garrisoned in Kamloops and Prince George. My regiment is a reserve army unit part of 39 Canadian Brigade Group, BC. Our role is to generate soldiers for deployments on domestic operations in response to natural or manmade disasters such as fires and floods. We're also able to deploy on various overseas/expeditionary operations with regards to peacekeeping, humanitarian and full spectrum combat operations. Our unit has been here in Kamloops since 1908 and we have granted Freedom of the City by Mayor and Council.
One of the important facets of our regiment and the Canadian military is remembering and not forgetting our many brave citizens who have made the ultimate sacrifice for Canada and the free world.

Recently I had an opportunity to visit Pleasant St Cemetery and I was extremely pleased and impressed on how well kept the entire location and was and especially where the veterans are laid to rest. This type of dedication speaks volumes to the commitment that the city places in this regard.
On behalf of the regimental family, thank you for looking after our fallen."
