January 13, 2021: Dear Utilities Maintenance Crew

22 January 2021

On a certain day in late November we suddenly experienced our water pressure go from its usual 30psi to almost zero. We have never had great water pressure to begin with, living up against the mountain ridge, and so have a water boosting pump we can use if needed. From that day on, without our booster unit being turned on, we would have no water at all.

Plumber John from 1st Choice Plumbing was called in and through him we learned that two of our neighbours had the same issue. He told me to phone the City and although it was a Sunday, one of your technicians came within the hour. Since that day, your team has not ceased in addressing our situation, trying to find the source of a potential leak, placing sensors all about the area, probing and evaluating.

Two days ago, your team came back to solve the issue for us once and for all. The street was opened up and Individual pipes were connected to each of our homes to ensure we had our own source of water, and by afternoon the system was in place and working. We now can turn off our booster and enjoy plenty of water, all thanks to you.

I know it is somewhat popular for citizens to gripe about taxes, whether they be federal, provincial or municipal. We on Pine Springs Road, however, have a great example of why contributing to municipal services is so important and so worthwhile. Thank you for your courteous, efficient and professional solving of our neighbourhood problem here in Westsyde.
