The City's Transportation Division is advancing conceptual design work to plan for near-term improvements and long-term transportation needs within the southwest sector of the city, specifically along the Hillside Drive and Copperhead Drive corridors.
Improvements may include:
- intersection capacity within the area;
- frontage upgrades on Hillside Drive;
- a multi-use pathway and transit stop at the future Arena Multiplex site; and
- upgrades to the s-curve alignment along Hillside Drive.
These enhancements aim to:
- support future traffic needs;
- enhance safety; and
- improve traffic flow for all users.
Early and ongoing engagement with residents, Kenna Cartwright Park users, and other impacted parties is necessary and important for City staff and partners to better understand the corridor and how best to approach specific enhancements.
