The Junior Council provides youth in Kamloops with a meaningful way to participate in local government while offering Council valuable insight into issues affecting young people. Its mandate is to help youth gain knowledge and appreciation of the municipal system, serve as a resource to Council on matters impacting young residents, and provide a youth perspective on topics such as community safety, health, recreation, employment, and the environment. The Junior Council also works to strengthen youth understanding of municipal government and highlight the positive contributions and viewpoints that young people bring to the community.
