What does the future of culture in Kamloops look like?

The City of Kamloops is updating our Cultural Strategic Plan, which will provide a blueprint for cultural development in Kamloops. Last updated in 2003, the Strategic Plan identified many strategies and recommendations that have shaped the community we live in today.

Since then, Kamloops has changed in many ways. We’re looking for input from the community to ensure the next Cultural Strategic Plan reflects the diversity of our community in a meaningful way.

November 2022 Update: A continued community discussion will take place on November 23 and 24, 2022 as the early findings and themes from the cultural mapping sessions collected during the You Are Here exhibit and community conversations are shared.

There are four sessions in total. The sessions will be open to the public and held at St. Andrew’s on the Square located 159 Seymour Street. A presentation will be given during the first half of each session followed by a facilitated workshop.

  • Session 1 - Wednesday, November 23, 9:30 am–12:00 noon (morning)
  • Session 2 - Wednesday, November 23, 6:30–9:00 pm (evening)
  • Session 3 - Thursday, November 24, 1:30–4:00 pm (afternoon)
  • Session 4 - Thursday, November 24, 6:30–9:00 pm (evening)

Due to space constraints, interested participants are asked to register for their desired session in advance. Please RVSP to jcyr@kamloops.ca and include your name, session number, and contact information.
