Citizen Satisfaction Survey 2024

The City conducts a comprehensive Citizen Satisfaction Survey every two years, with the previous one completed in 2022. Using telephone interviews with approximately 400 randomly selected residents representing the community’s demographics, the survey addresses a wide range of topical issues facing the community and provides a detailed assessment of citizens’ attitudes, needs, priorities, and satisfaction levels. This research ultimately helps guide the City in making decisions regarding planning, budgeting, and issues management.

In the past, the Citizen Satisfaction Survey was conducted every four years with the election of a new City Council to guide their strategic plan development. Earlier this year, Council approved increasing the frequency of the survey to every two years in order to provide each Council with a midterm check point.

The survey is managed by a third party, Forum Research Inc., and will launch on October 22 and be open for three weeks. Using telephone interviews with randomly selected residents representing the community’s demographics, the survey addresses a wide range of subjects and provides a statistically valid assessment of citizens’ attitudes, needs, priorities, and satisfaction levels with City services and their overall quality of life.

An online version of the survey will also be available during the survey dates at for anyone who wishes to participate. This data will be reported separately from the statistically valid survey responses but will further guide the City in making decisions regarding planning, budgeting, and issues management.

The survey findings will be presented to Council in early 2025.
