Update for March 17

17 March 2026

The City of Kamloops is advising properties of upcoming impacts to driveway access, as part of the Tranquille Phase 3 Project.

Crews will be performing ditch excavation, laying and burying the pipe, followed by backfill and restoration.

During this work, impacted properties can expect loss of driveway access for a few days or more until the pipework passes your location. NOTE: all work and timelines are weather dependent and subject to change.

Residents will notified ahead of time and will be required to remove vehicles from driveways to avoid being blocked in during work. Please plan ahead for daily needs during this work.

On-street parking is not permitted within this portion of the Tranquille Road corridor. Alternate temporary parking can be found at the Crestline Community Garden parking lot or on local side streets.

As a result of this work, residents may experience a temporary loss of water, as crews cut, cap, and reinstate water services. Once the pipe work has passed your address, expect access to be rudimentary until the road is restored.

Vehicle traffic is expected to move westbound, away from the pipework, and return the same way. Pedestrian foot traffic will be maintained, but may be rudimentary.

Our apologies for the inconvenience. Thank you for your understanding and co-operation in this matter.

TRAFFIC IMPACTS

The construction zone remains local traffic only with 30 km/h speed limits. Heavy equipment has the right-of-way within active construction zones.

Please drive with caution in the construction zone and obey the posted speed limit and traffic control personnel. Kamloops RCMP are actively monitoring this site and will continue to ticket non-compliant drivers.

To report a driving complaint including speeding, distracted driving, or failure to follow road signs or signals, use the online reporting tool available at Kamloops.ca/RCMP.
