Update for February 26

26 February 2026

The City of Kamloops is advising properties of upcoming access impacts to driveways beginning March 4, 2026 (weather dependent) for a duration of 2-3 weeks.

Crews will be performing ditch excavation to lay sleeves for the irrigation mainline, laying and burying the pipe, followed by backfill and restoration.

Work will begin on the north side of Tranquille Road at Crestline Street and move east to Schreiner Street, then proceed to the south side of Tranquille Road moving west from Schreiner Street to Crestline Street.

RESIDENT IMPACTS

Beginning Wednesday, March 4, until approximately March 20, residents along Tranquille Road from Crestline Street to Schreiner Street can expect rolling closures and driveway access interruptions for a brief period (2-5 hours) as crews move through the corridor.

If required, alternate parking can be found at the Crestline Community Garden parking lot. On-street parking is not permitted within this portion of the Tranquille Road corridor.

TRAFFIC IMPACTS

As a reminder, the construction zone corridor is local traffic only with 30 km/h speed limits. Construction crews, trucks, and equipment will be active, as well as equipment from third-party companies.

Heavy equipment has the right-of-way within active construction zones.

Please drive with caution in the construction zone and obey the posted speed limit and traffic control personnel. Kamloops RCMP are actively monitoring this site and will continue to ticket non-compliant drivers.
