Update for April 16

16 April 2026

The City of Kamloops is advising properties on the north side of Tranquille Road of upcoming temporary and repeated driveway access impacts for approximately 1-2 weeks starting on Monday, April 20 (subject to change), as sidewalk subgrade preparation gets underway.

Crews will be digging for subgrade and prepping for upcoming concrete pouring, working eastbound from Crestline Street to Schreiner Street on the north side of Tranquille Road.

RESIDENT IMPACTS

As a result of this work, out of an abundance of caution, impacted residents will temporarily lose driveway access for short durations from Monday, April 20 to approximately Friday, May 1 (subject to change).

On-street parking will not be permitted within this portion of the Tranquille Road corridor. Alternate parking can be found at the Crestline Community Garden parking lot or where available on side streets.

Canada Post mail delivery: Canada Post may opt to pause door-to-door mail service at times within the work zone. This could occur without formal notice. Please contact Canada Post directly at 1-866-607-6301 should you have questions or concerns regarding mail service.

TRAFFIC IMPACTS

As a reminder, the construction zone corridor is local traffic only with 30 km/h speed limits. Construction crews, trucks, and equipment will be active, as well as equipment from third-party companies.

Heavy equipment has the right-of-way within active construction zones.

Please drive with caution in the construction zone and obey the posted speed limit and traffic control personnel. Kamloops RCMP are actively monitoring this site and will continue to ticket non-compliant drivers.

Driver behaviour like speeding and road rage are police matters and should be taken directly to RCMP. Please call the North Shore Community Policing Office at 250-376-5099 or report a crime online by visiting Kamloops.ca/RCMP.
