Residents are invited to help select a new provider to supply, install, and maintain a modern pay parking system in our community. As part of this process, two applicants will be shortlisted, and residents can participate in two demonstration sessions to test and provide feedback about the parking machine options.

There will be two demonstration dates:

  • Tuesday, January 13 from 5:30-7:30 pm at the Kia Lounge in the Sandman Centre
  • Wednesday, January 14 from 5:30-7:30 pm at the Sports Centre Lounge in the McArthur Island Sports and Events Centre

People interested in participating can drop in during these hours, test both proposed systems, and provide their feedback, which will be considered as part of the selection process for a new pay parking provider.

Pay parking in Kamloops serves approximately 800 on-street single parking spaces downtown, pay-and-display machines in nine off-street parking lots, pay-by-space parking at the Tournament Capital Centre, and two City-owned parkades on Seymour Street and Lansdowne Street.

The new pay parking system is anticipated to be in place in the spring of 2026.
