Parks Plan Status Update

May 19, 2026

The City has wrapped up engagement on the Parks Plan update, a process that included extensive community input to reflect the priorities of a wide range of residents, with opportunities for both virtual and in-person participation.

Engagement activities included surveys which generated more than 700 responses, workshops, Tḱemlúps te Secwépemc engagement, internal discussions, and interviews with key interest holders.

The feedback received has been invaluable and will guide park development, trails, recreation, and accessibility over the next 10 years, ensuring spaces remain inclusive, connected, and responsive to growth.

Building on this work, the City will begin a review of the 2019 Recreation Master Plan, and findings from both processes will be combined into a unified Parks and Recreation Plan, anticipated in 2027.

The City would like to thank everyone who participated in the discussions around the update to the Parks Plan and we invite you to follow along as we dive deeper into bettering parks and recreation in our city!
