2018 Municipal Election

The 2018 Municipal Election has concluded.

On Saturday October 20, 2018, the City of Kamloops conducted a municipal election. Eligible voters elected one Mayor, eight City Councillors and five School Trustees. Thank you for voting!

The Inaugural Council Meeting and Inauguration Ceremony for the new Council took place on Monday, November 5, at 7:00 pm in the Theatre Room, Coast Kamloops Hotel & Conference Centre, and was open to the public. View the video of the Inauguration Ceremony here.

  • Nomination packages are now available!

    Interested in running for City Council or School Trustee in the upcoming election? Nomination packages are now available at City Hall (7 Victoria Street West) or on the City of Kamloops Municipal Election website.

    Packages are available in print form, and for the first time, on USB sticks. Election staff have a limited number of pre-loaded USB sticks available, and if people bring their own USB stick, staff will upload the package on there for them.

    Mandatory nomination forms contained in the packages must be submitted between 9:00 am, September 4, 2018, and 4:00 pm, September 14, 2018, to...

    Are you interested in working as an Election Official? An Election Official's job duties include legibly registering voters, recording and confirming their identification, and issuing ballots. Election Officials work on voting day from 7:00 am to approximately 9:00 pm and remain on site throughout the entire day.
