Green or natural burial involves returning a body as naturally as possible to the earth. The body is not embalmed or cremated. Vegetation is planted and allowed to naturalize, with the names of the interred typically inscribed on a marker or plaque.
A mausoleum is an external free-standing building constructed as a monument enclosing the interment space.
A columbarium is a wall, room, or building with niches that store cremation urns.
