Fleetwood Avenue - Phase 2
Update for September 1, 2022: BA Dawson Blacktop will be paving sections of Holt Street and Fleetwood Avenue on Thursday, September 1. During this time, access to Stardust Street and Centennial Drive will be restricted. Residents are asked to park on a neighbouring street during this time. Thank you for your cooperation and patience.
The City of Kamloops will be conducting utility and road works as well as pedestrian upgrades on Fleetwood Avenue between Holt Street and Desmond Street. We are advising residents in the area that this work is scheduled to begin March 14, weather depending, and will encompass the following scope of work:
water service replacements;
water main replacements;
new drainage infrastructure
pedestrian sidewalk; and
Restoration work on Fleetwood Avenue between Southill Street and Desmond Street (Phase 1) will also be started and completed this spring in conjunction with Phase 2 work.
Throughout the construction period, vibratory compaction equipment will be in use; therefore, any fragile items should be packaged or protected from damage due to vibration. There may also be noise disruption due to equipment on site.
In order to perform utility works, there will be frequent water interruptions. Expect intermittent water shutdowns of three hours or less during this portion of the project. When possible we will inform residents daily of longer duration water shutdowns in excess of three hours. We recommend that residents store a quantity of water for use during the longer duration periods.
Garbage collection will not be affected.
Hours of Work
Work will begin on March 14 and is expected to be complete in August. Construction is scheduled to occur Monday–Friday, 7:00 am–4:00 pm. Some evening or weekend work may be required.
