4th Avenue Sewer Upgrade
The City of Kamloops has contracted Extreme Excavating Ltd to upgrade the sewer main along Battle Street between 3rd Avenue and 4th Avenue, and along 4th Avenue between Battle Street and Columbia Street. We are advising residents in the area that this work is scheduled to begin March 21, weather depending.
Battle Street between 3rd Avenue and 4th Avenue will be closed to vehicles, with the exception of local traffic.
4th Avenue will be closed to northbound traffic between Battle Street and Columbia Street, but will remain open for southbound traffic.
Residents and businesses are advised that on-street parking may not be accessible at times, but pedestrian access will be maintained.
Please obey all traffic control personnel and signage when driving in the vicinity of the construction.
Transit may have temporary delays or detours during work in intersections. Visit BCTransit.com/Kamloops for the most up to date information.
Effective April 27, Routes 6 and 9 will have temporary detours. Starting May 1, Route 7 will have detours, and two stops on the northside of Columbia Street will be closed, with a temporary stop on the west side of Columbia Street at 3rd Avenue. Transit will return to its regular route at end of day May 13.

Throughout the construction period, vibratory compaction equipment will be in use; therefore, any fragile items should be packaged or protected from damage due to vibration. There may also be noise disruption due to equipment on site.
Garbage collection will not be affected.
Hours of Work
Work will begin on March 21 and is expected to be complete by the end of June. Construction is scheduled to occur Monday–Friday, 7:00 am–5:30 pm. Some evening or weekend work may be required.
